Subscription Shirts?

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

We have a debate out these days, as we are promoting our subscription service. As you’re probably aware, you can save 10% if you buy shirts from MailMeshirts.com via a subscription service. We think this need a little bit of attention and wanted to ask you whether or not it is a service you see as a positive initiative or perhaps you just don’t really care? We decided to make it available on shirts because our back-end system is optimized for subscription products. MailMeShirts.com is a part of the MailMeNetwork where subscription services are in focus and most of the products we work with, are subscription products, but with shirts we know it is a bit unusual. It’s just that ever since we launched the site we had gotten more and more satisfied with the way the subscription service work and that’s why we felt we should actually create a stir around the possibility of subscribing to shirts. So what do you think of it? Below you can see what we have written in various Internet forums.

Subscription Shirts?
A whole new way of thinking - but a good one if you want a discount or just want to make your life a little bit easier.
MailMeShirts.com is offering their customers to buy dress shirts for men through a subscription model. The idea might seem a little bit off, but if you’re a business man who regularly uses dress shirts or like shirts as casual wear, it is not that far off. The concept even has a couple of obvious advantages. First of all you get a discount when signing up for a subscription model. In this case it’s 10%. You can also escape from those dreadful trips to the shopping mall or your local clothes store, where you will have to stand in line and while you’re standing there you can think about the profit margin for such a store. Often they make 100%+ and there’s also often one or more middlemen involved before the product even gets to the store. So even though prices might seem similar, it’s often a matter of quality. The longer the chain is the more you have to compromise on your quality - It is as simple as that. At MailMeShirts.com we buy the shirts directly from the manufacturer and we design the shirts ourselves at our Scandinavian design office - We even hand pick the fabric for you to make sure you get the highest quality cotton - and most importantly… We wear our own shirts, so you can make sure we do everything we can to make them top of the class.

Some things to be aware of when buying (anything) via a subscription model. Make sure that you can cancel your subscription at any time and that you’re not locked in any way, just as you can on mailmeshirts.com. Next you have to make sure that the product is right for you, so you should also look for the possibility of just buying a single item at a time and try it out. When it comes to shirts, it is important that they fit you perfectly and that you are satisfied with the fabric. When buying a single item you can also evaluate on other important things such as delivery time - was it as promised. The quality of the product, the communication before and after you place your order and the ease of ordering on the website. When you are satisfied you can move on to a subscription model.

So if you want to try it out. Take a look at the men’s dress shirts on MailMeshirts.com

Good luck!

Tip #1 - Find the Correct Size

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

When you’re looking at shirts, size is often an issue. Many designs can vary in size. At MailMeShirts.com we have partnered with Scandinavian Prestige, and they are operating with 4 different sizes - Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. It can be a good idea to have a look at the size table before you choose your favorite shirt. The difference is mainly in the lenght of the sleeves and around the neck. When trying out a shirt you should be able to put just one finger in between the buttoned collar and your throat. The sleeves should preferably be about 0.8 inches (2 cm) over your wrists, so it is visible under a jacket sleeve.
